CHP Helicopter Rescues Hiker in Solano County

The California Highway Patrol released video of a helicopter rescue they performed on the Blue Ridge Trail near Lake Berryessa. A hiker suffered a medical emergency and needed to be evacuated. It was pretty impressive footage!

Solano County to Pay Volunteer Firefighters this Fire Season

County Supervisors approved staffing one fire engine per district, during hours of peak fire danger this year. The Vacaville, Montezuma, and Suisun fire districts will each receive funding to ensure someone is on duty, rather than relying on volunteers responding from their homes. This should reduce response times in rural areas. READ MORE

One More Thing…

I sadly had the opportunity to attend a funeral at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. It’s unbelievable that we have such a beautiful cemetery just outside Vacaville. Located on Midway Road, it’s limited to veteran burials and those of their spouses. If you haven’t had the honor of visiting, you should consider stopping by. The gates open at sunrise and close at sundown, 365 days a year.

Also, I’m thankful for being invited to share in the Leisure Town Life Facebook Group. Big thanks to Paula Jansen!
