Black & Blue Bowl is This Friday

The biggest high school football event in Vacaville is this Friday. The Black & Blue Bowl is when Vacaville High School and Will C. Wood face off. Vaca High’s bulldogs have won 30 out of 34 in the series which dates back to 1990. Wood’s last win was in 2015. The game will be held at Vaca High this year. READ MORE

Donate Your Pumpkins on Sunday

Want to get rid of your pumpkins and have them go to a good cause? You can donate whole, uncarved, & undecorated pumpkins to Lucky Ones Animal Rescue. They’ll be accepting them in the Grocery Outlet parking lot (Nut Tree Parkway) on Sunday, November 1st from 11AM - 1PM.

• Air Force Mobility Band @ Journey Downtown (6PM - 8PM)
  Known for their high-energy performances and diverse musical repertoire, the band will bring classic pop, rock, and country hits that celebrate the spirit of camaraderie and patriotism through music.

Saturday, November 2nd

• Día de Los Muertos @ Andrews Park (4PM - 8PM)
  Celebrate the Mexican holiday where families welcome back their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration.
  

• Boys & Girls Club Chocolate Gala @ Sunrise Banquet Hall (5:30 PM)
  Attend a Wonka-themed gala with delectable chocolate fountains, a chocolate-infused dinner masterfully crafted by Chef Daniel, with live and silent auctions to benefit the Vacaville Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club.
  

• Pizza Paint Night @ Joyful Art Studio (5:30PM)
  An evening of creativity, laughter, and pizza. Designed for young artists, it’s an opportunity to drop kids off for a night of artistic expression. They’ll do a guided canvass painting, and dinner is included with a $40 ticket.

Sunday, November 3rd

• Horse Schooling Show @ Ranchotel Horse Center (8:30 AM)
  The last schooling show of the year will be held this Sunday. Riders are welcome to participate regardless of skill level, goals, or discipline.

• Tumbling Trolls @ VPAT (Sat & Sun)
  Presented by Dream Xtreme. Join their talented gymnasts and ninjas as they dance, jump, and tumble to the music of Trolls.
  

• 11/6: Veterans Appreciation BBQ Lunch @ Solano College (11AM - 2PM)
  Solano Community College is hosting a free BBQ lunch to honor veterans and military members at their Veterans Resource Center on the Fairfield campus. It’s open to validated veterans, military connected students, and staff. Need to register by today!

Closer to Home…

I really enjoy Halloween and again turned my front porch into a mini haunted house. I hope I didn’t scare the little ones too bad. 😬 I also just finished a great book on the art of storytelling. I learned a lot and added it to my list of recommended books.
