🔥 Heat Wave, Murals, & Purse Thieves

The biggest stories of the week were the heat wave and power shutoffs. Power outages only impacted a few of us, but EVERYONE felt the heat. We hope you enjoyed the fireworks show last night!

New Murals Facing I-505

The walls of Security Public Storage face I-505 and now display beautiful murals paying tribute to Vacaville. The colorful images recently appeared and welcome southbound travelers entering our beautiful city. The artist is Jerry Ragg of Mural Decor.

Progress on Leisure Town Road

Construction on Leisure Town Road reached a milestone, and the intersection of Elmira Road is reopened. The work will continue to move north over the coming months. It’s all part of the larger Jepson Parkway project to connect I-80 in Vacaville with CA-12 in Suisun.

Vacaville Police See Increase in Wallet Thefts

Vacaville Police say they’ve seen an uptick in thieves stealing wallets from women’s purses while victims are shopping. Sometimes the purses are left unattended. In other cases, the thieves cause a distraction. Be careful and always keep an eye on your purse!

The automotive manufacturer is actively hiring for equipment operator and administrative/clerical assistant. The facility will be 415,000 square feet in Vacaville’s Industrial Park.
