Vacaville Police Chief Announces Retirement

City Cleans Up Encampments - At a Cost

The Vacaville Police Department highlighted their recent cleanup of an illegal encampment. The before and after pictures look great, but the size of the encampment and presence of biohazardous materials led to a bill of $22,000 for just this one encampment. READ MORE

Solano County Sheriff’s Animal Care Division is running a holiday donation drive to raise funds for spay/neuter services for cats within the county.

City of Vacaville is hiring an IT Help Desk Supervisor. The annual salary range is up to $114,994.

Solano Office of Education seeks volunteers for 2025 Bay Area Academic Decathlon in February.

Fingerprinting services unavailable at police department during remodeling project - expected to be closed until May.

  • Shop Small Business Saturday @ Downtown Vacaville (10AM - 4PM)
    Support local small businesses to kick off the holiday shopping season. There will be pictures with Santa, free face painting, a snow machine, and live music!

  • Ron George’s Big Band Christmas @ VPAT (3PM)
    If you’re a fan of jazz music and enjoy the excitement of a big band, then this is the show for you. The show features a 17-piece orchestra performing holiday favorites from Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Judy Garland, Michael Bublé, & Elvis!

  • Christmas in My Hometown @ VPAT (7PM)
    The 19th year of this Broadway-style variety show features over 100 singers, dancers and musicians. The show is fashioned after the holiday specials of TV’s early days.

I love Christmas, but watering the tree is a pain. I’m excited to try this automatic tree watering pump this year. Hopefully I’ll never have to awkwardly crawl under the tree to water it again.
