Vacaville Election Results, Remember A Veteran, & Prison Homicide
We have local election results, weekend events, and a call to action for an awesome fundraiser to honor fallen veterans…
Vacaville Election Results
There are technically more votes coming in, but preliminary results for local races have some apparent winners. Most notably, Councilmember Michael Silva is leading by a large margin over his challenger. Councilmember Jason Roberts appears to have been ousted by Ted Fremouw. Councilmember Roy Stockton successfully ran unopposed.
The Vacaville Unified School District bond measure (Measure E) appears to be failing by a narrow margin. We also have preliminary results for School Board, City Clerk, and Treasurer. READ MORE
‘Remember A Vet’ Wreath Project Seeks Support
Every December, the Wreath Project places a holiday bough at each of the 3,500 grave sites in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery - a sprawling military cemetery on Midway Road just outside of Vacaville.

The foundation is seeking donations (no amount is too small), and volunteers to unload, place, and later remove the boughs.
This is a uniquely local, patriotic, and touching community-based program in its 12th year. With your help, the entire cemetery will be covered with boughs again this year. Let’s make it a success together! LEARN MORE
CDCR Investigates Homicide at Vacaville Prison
On Wednesday, prison guards found a 25 year-old inmate unresponsive in his cell. Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful. A 23 year-old inmate, housed in the same cell, was placed in restricted housing pending an investigation. Although an official cause of death is yet to be determined, the death is being investigated as a homicide. The deceased was an inmate sentenced in Monterey County in 2018 and was serving 12 years for gang-related assault charges. READ MORE
